I’ve been taught that in Christianity, we praise the Lord for the things that He has done for us.
Corporate Praise
Corporate praise is important and is simply a gathering of believers praising the Lord together.
Stronger when each comes already praised up.
Stronger yet when the body praises in one accord.
Matthew 21:12-16 NASBS
12 And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER’; but you are making it a robbers’ DEN.” 14 And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were shouting in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant 16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these children are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out OF THE MOUTH OF INFANTS AND NURSING BABIES YOU HAVE PREPARED PRAISE FOR YOURSELF’?”
Luke 18:43 NASBS
43 Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him, glorifying God; and when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God.
Luke 19:37 NASBS
37 As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,
Acts 2:1-4 KJV
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Praise Songs
Remember out of the heart the mouth speaks and what we see and hear is what gets down inside our heart.
This includes our praise music.
We don’t want our praise music to speak the curse into our lives.
Jehovah Rapha by Sarah Hart Pearsons
You knit me together in the womb
You mended me, restored my body
Jehovah Rapha – The LORD who healeth me
Jehovah Rapha – Your name means healing
Glory to God my Healer
He is Jesus my Redeemer
You skillfully formed me in your image in Glory
In your Book I found the story
Words of Mercy, Words that healed me
Jehovah Rapha – The LORD who healeth me
Jehovah Rapha – Your name means healing
Glory to God my Healer
He is Jesus my Redeemer
Singing Glory to God my Healer
He is Jesus my Redeemer
Jehovah Rapha – The LORD who healeth me
Jehovah Rapha – The LORD who healeth me
Jehovah Rapha – Your name means healing
Jehovah Rapha – Your name means healing
Oh, Glory to God my Healer
He is Jesus, He’s my Redeemer, Yeah
Singing Glory to God my Healer
He is Jesus my Redeemer, Yes He is!
